This link is in reference to a rather heated argument I got into a few days ago. Arguments can be great because people learn new things! I got to wondering what Planned Parenthood’s stance is on a situation where a very young girl gets pregnant from rape and wants to keep the child.
I think others in the conversation assumed that the pro choice stance is that you should have a legal right to force your child to get an abortion against their will, esp if it is a rape and/or there could be a medical risk to the child to carry it to term. This got me to wondering what the current laws are.
This link answers that question. Here it clearly states that Planned Parenthood, and any other abortion providers, are not legally allowed to give a girl an abortion without her consent.
So, to refer back to an earlier discussion, even if the girl is very young and it would be medically ill-advised for her to carry it, she is still legally protected to do so.
By the way, ectopic terminations, as with miscarriages, are not considered abortions by pro life lobbyists, and currently no doctor in the country (who doesn’t want to be sued for medical malpractice) would deny this service to someone, even the most rigorous pro life doctor. I would think when it comes to life-saving medical treatments in general, such as in the case of an ectopic pregnancy, a parent is allowed to supersede what the pregnant child may want.
I would, of course, hope that the child would never insist on keeping a pregnancy that would be medically risky, or worse, threaten her life. Although I’m guessing there are situations when they are not being supervised at all, or worse, stuck with an abuser, or even the very person who impregnated them. In the case of the 10-year old girl, she eventually reported to having been raped by the same person on two different occasions, and no one knew until long after the second attack, which makes me suspect she was being neglected.
But for older teenage pregnant girls, say 15-18, which I’m guessing accounts for the bulk of teen pregnancies, a healthy to-term pregnancy becomes less of a medical risk to the mother. In these cases, I’m guessing it becomes emotionally easier as a parent to give the older pregnant girl complete autonomy to decide what is best for her.
As troublesome of a fact as it may be for the concerned parent of a pregnant girl, the pro choice position is meant to protect a girl or woman’s right to choose, even if the parent thinks it is a bad idea. It seems too often in the last few decades, the rhetoric of the pro choice activists seem to have shifted to become pro abortion, always quick to roll out talking points for why an abortion makes the most sense. I would think it would behoove the movement, now that it has to be defended on a state level, to realign with what is in their very name and their original seeming intent: to protect a woman’s (or girl’s) right to choose, not to convince her to get an abortion.
I am a bit troubled by the lack of clarity created when Planned Parenthood refers to people under 18 as ‘women.’ I think it is important to remember that these people are girls, not women. I’m not sure why they are so inexact with their language.
So, forced abortions are against the law in this country, regardless of circumstances or age, as far as I can tell from included link. If anyone has evidence that contradicts this info, feel free to post here. I am always learning new things.
What do you all think of this law?
Has anyone else discovered Blair White’s YouTube Channel? She is a self-identified transwoman giving voice to people who need to be heard.
This episode, her guest is a detransitioner who tells his heartwrenching story of extensive medical issues brought on by his surgical vaginoplasty. The most painful part of the story is how it took away his sexuality altogether, and left him with a literal wound that will never heal in place of his penis which he would have been fine with if he’d realized the surgery was going to wreck his body. Whatever happened to the Hippocratic oath?
Upon hearing more and more of these detransitioners’ stories, it is starting to seem apparent that certain American doctors are literally experimenting on our children, fully aware of the many known and unknown risks.
This just in, fresh off the Pew Polls Website! 55 percent of journalists really suck at their job and have no ethical compass. So I’m paraphrasing a little:) Let me show you what I found…
The link below reveals that 55 percent of journalists are ok with going against ‘bothsideism,’ which is a word I just learned that means giving equal representation of the facts of all sides of any story. You will also see that this compares to only 22 percent of non-journalists (just average Americans) thinking it is ok to jettison ‘bothsideism’ ala ‘objective journalism.’ I find this to be alarming.
Does this mean an average American is more likely to give an objective telling of an event than an average mainstream journalist? (Maybe that is why I find some of these tiny little YouTube channels to be so much more reliable.)
Fifty five percent of journalists are happy to serve as activists under the auspices of journalism. My guess is they probably think they’re doing a good thing. I could see universities getting particularly infected one way or another with some idiotic ideology and end up cranking out a wave of bad journalists for a couple decades. Maybe this has been going on forever. Ir just seems if my memory serves me, when I was working in journalism, anyone not 100 percent on board with objective reporting would be encouraged to do so or lose employment there.
Because media outlets are allowed to get away with these biases in the realm of politics, it has the damaging effect on American culture by reinforcing the idea that all Democrats or all Republicans are a monolith, since the biases seem to fall right along party lines.
They make you unaware of the fact that a certain percentage of your Democratic neighbors are actually quite pro life. They make the other side think no Democrats ever agree with them on anything..
They make you unaware of the fact that a certain percentage of your Republican neighbors are actually quite pro choice. They make the other side think no Republicans ever agree with them on anything..
votes and encourages others to vote Democratic. Or they make you you ina creates a dangerous illusion that all people who identify as one party or the other are unified in their opinion on all issues, and worse, in direct opposition totally to anyone affiliated with the other party. In doing so, it creates a peer pressure, and the only ones who speak up against peer pressure are the few people who are either incredibly confident, or are total weirdos who were never socially acceptable anyway or don’t seem to notice or mind when everyone is hating on them. It has the effect of silencing many people across both parties, effectively giving extremists permission to create a totally false narrative, based on scant or no actual real research…and when extremists on the other side react, something equally bad crops up on the other side…
But when you look at these Pew Polls, which I find reliable and parallel with numbers of other leading polling services, huge swathes of people may be a minority, but a significant minority, going against their party’s dominant opinion. For example, a significant percentage of Democratic voters were never comfortable with gay marriage, and a significant number of Republican voters were rooting for gay marriage before it was written into law. Some of these minority opinions can be as high as 30 or 40 percent on certain issues within their party affiliation! I wish I could locate the graph i saw that perfectly illustrates this. It was somewhere within the link below. The Pew Polls website is amazing by the way, to anyone yet to discover it. There you will find tons of demographics on all kinds of issues.
I wonder if Conservatives and Liberals can do more within their social circles to express themselves when they are going against the media’s depiction of how a good conservative or a good liberal should be thinking? I wonder if it is evidence of mind control to have a fear of speaking your voice if it is a minority opinion within your community? For any numbers geeks, I’ll buy a coffee for anyone who can find a graph within that Pew Poll website of political parties on one axis and issue on the other axis. It perfectly illustrates the true diversity of opinion among most Americans! I’m In a sense it makes you realize if the media weren’t constantly reinforcing caricatures of one side or another, we’d probably realize that most of us Americans really are more similar than different…
Anyone advocating for castration, mastectomies, or tracheal ‘shaves’ in teenage children has either made the zero evidence-based determination that this child will never have gender fluidity, or they simply don’t care if they end up being dead wrong.
So far, no medical science has any way of predicting whether or not someone will become gender fluid, which by the logic of the trans movement, would quite possibly necessitate a different body form, for example their old body form. A post-operation option shuts away from the child forever their ability to get their old body back.
This contradicts the transactivist’s other prevalently expressed notion that gender is a social construct. A big, bald burly guy with a five o’clock shadow and a deep voice who decides to identify as a woman should never ever have their ‘reality’ challenged because sex (I presume to mean at least in part necessitates penis or breasts), has nothing to do with actual gender.
Sometimes activists of this ideology conflate sex and gender, insisting it is inhumane to prevent someone from getting out of the body they feel trapped in (presumably either a ‘female’ or a ‘male’ body, which isn’t this a label on their part?), and sometimes they insist the two are totally unrelated. How can the trans movement expect people to understand their argument when it is intellectual incoherent? Gender cannot logically be a subset of sex, while sex is also a subset of gender.
I hear many trans activists say doctors ‘assign’ sex at birth, as if by some arbitrary guesswork, rather than a scientific observation made with every other mammal on the planet. Then they say that it is ‘oppressive’ to think that sex equals gender. Yet they then admit there is a correlation between sex and gender when they are telling a confused child who likes or dislikes certain things that this must mean they are the opposite sex.
They plant the ideological seed in a confused child’s mind that they need to decide whether their gender is in ‘alignment’ with their biological sex, which would necessitate medicalizing an otherwise physically healthy child. So now they are admitting there is a rule to have an exception to. Now all gender-affirmers are onboard to talk the confused child into ‘matching’ their body with their gender, in spite of the risk of surgeries and medications with known and unknown long term side effects.
The clinics themselves are admitting they don’t know for sure what the permanent longterm effects will be, although they do in passing mention early onset osteoporosis, incontinence and a variety of chronic pain issues in the newly created ‘sex organs’ are possible outcomes.
They also admit they won’t know for sure what will happen until the transitioned child is older, since it is a new use of a medication that has already been reported via class action lawsuit to trigger longterm and severe chronic pain issues. I’ve heard about this the most by listening to the dozens of personal stories of people struggling with chronic medical issues brought on by the supposed medical interventions. This includes transitioners who are still all in with the ideology, and detransitioners who regret what they’ve done. Both these groups have plenty of heartbreaking stories of irreversible and ongoing medical issues. I’ve seen quite a lot of transitioners publically shame and ridicule those courageous detransitioners brave enough to come out and tell their story. These critics of detransitioners claim that everyone who reads the forms knows there are tons of dangerous side effects, and that if you make medical changes because you mistakenly thought you were the opposite sex, you are an idiot. Both these admissions are in the spirit of trying to keep the trans movements’ holy matrimony with the surgical and medical community alive and well. But their vitriolic attitude instead shines through, to let the community at large know that there are well-known risks, and that self diagnosis is an extremely flawed way to determine whether or not their gender dysphoria will be alleviated, and not actually worsened, as much evidence seems to clearly indicate, by medically transitioning.
The theory that a child is capable of diagnosing themselves … ‘i think I’m a boy, therefore I am a boy…’ has been disproven by detransitioners, telling their heartbreaking stories of regret at being ‘wrong’ when they thought they were in the ‘wrong’ body. Many advocates of trans surgery say who cares about the destroyed lives of such a small percentage, but I believe that one is too many, and that by creating non-evidence-based policies, you set a scary precedent, which will result in more and more damaged children…
Additionally, even if there are truly gender dysphoric children, who refer to the sex binary (in contradiction to what transtioners say they actually believe btw), and feel they are in the ‘wrong’ body, there is no evidence this treatment will cure their ailments. The only ‘long term’ studies I’ve seen on any significant scale of number are only as far as three months out and allegedly only patients of a particular clinic! That does not qualify as long term or objective research! Additionally, even if the paperwork includes the ‘long term risks are unknown’ clause, children are not old enough to understand and consent to future risks! Many if not most have a personal fable of invincibility because their mind has not fully developed yet. Not to mention the fact that younger and younger children are ending up on the track to receive medical intervention when they are older, upon the heels of years of puberty blockers.
Has anyone watched the tv show, ‘i am Jazz?’ This child has been developing one medical issue after another, as the result of a vaginoplasty that was performed on him at 16 years old after having been on puberty blockers since preadolescence. As far as I know, at the time, he was the youngest person to receive this procedure. (I’m happy to refer to him as she if we were interacting on a personal level, but for informational purposes he is a he, while presenting as female)… Jazz’ mother now constantly nags and complains that Jazz is fat (possible endocrinal production issue brought on by puberty blockers) and not ‘dilating’ enough (I’ll let anyone look this one up for specific details, but it is a ghastly procedure involving inserting a device in the medically created ‘vagina,’ to keep the wound from healing. Noone can blame Jazz for not wanting to do this form of literal continued self sexual harm, literally keeping a wound open from a botched surgery! I cannot begin to imagine what all this is doing to Jazz’ psyche…it is terrible to see people letting this happen. I wish someone would help Jazz out of this terribly abusive situation.

“We won’t know the long-term effects until the first people to take puberty-blockers get older.”

I’m hoping that the concerned parent of the gender dysphoric child, considering services at this facility, will read this sentence, which is tacked onto the end of a paragraph of nonsensical double-speak.
The first sentence of the ‘Risks’ section of the link tells us puberty blockers are safe. The second sentence tells us they’re not sure. The third sentence tells us research seems to indicate they’re safe. The fourth sentence clearly indicates they have no idea whether or not they’re safe. They finally come out and say it. On this last point, they go on to clarify they won’t know what the longterm effects of puberty blockers are until they see what happens to the child as they get older. At least they’re honest in this last sentence.
According to the information provided by this clinic, it seems clear that our gender dysphoric children are being medically experimented on. The clinic claims that by not going thru with a treatment that has unknown risks, you put your child at risk. Huh??
This is another intellectually incoherent claim that I keep seeing amongst ‘gender-affirming’ clinics that cater to children. Having watched dozens of videos of young adults suffering permanent physical damage from ‘gender-affirming’ surgeries, I can clearly say that at least sometimes we can already see the effects are devastating for those who were not expecting all the medical complications. And to hear them share their stories is heartbreaking.
To add to the heartbreak is the fact that a certain percentage are those who are starting to speak up and to claim they were incorrect when they thought they were ‘trapped in the wrong body,’ but cannot reverse the effects and get their body parts back.
Ironically, they end up creating a ‘wrong’ body they deeply wish they could return for their old body. They are now relegated to being trapped in the wrong body of their own making. Which would be true if they were able to comprehend informed consent, but in no way would I blame a child for making a ‘wrong’ decision such as this. They do not yet have the cognitive skill to be perfect or even mildly accurate at predicting what they will want in the future.
The common denominator here seems to be unspeakable grief and regret, and hurt and confusion as to why all their therapists encouraged them to go thru with risky and experimental surgeries when gender is not supposed to be aligned with sex anyway. These are forced to deal with the fact that although they come to realize they were never actually gender dysphoric, they are now stuck with hormone treatment for the rest of their life, or the constant reminder via castration or double mastectomy, of their terrible mistake.
I have seen other clinics claim that their treatments are evidence-based, but how could they be if they don’t know what the long-term effects will be? Doesn’t ‘evidence-based’ mean that a particular treatment makes a person’s condition better in an overall way? Another thing, if ‘gender dysphoria’ means ‘unhappy with your gender,’ I don’t so far see proof that a different gender would make the child happy. Considering the fact that more and more genders are being invented or realized every day, what are the chances the child can pick a gender that will make them happy? What are the chances that none of the supposed genders will make them happy?
And more importantly, if the gender is not attached to sex, and is not binary, as we keep hearing, then hypothetical speaking, the child does guess their correct gender, how would cutting off body parts in an attempt to switch your sex ever align you with your gender? When we’re pretending sex is not binary, then why choose to try to mold your body to one of the binaries, when, as far as I hear, there aren’t ‘female’ or ‘male’ genders. There are just these innate indescribable senses of who a person is that define a gender, not related to sex. If a child is vexed by feeling they are ‘born in the wrong body,’ then it seems to me this would have to be treated as a separate medical issue that would not have any relevance to how they decide or feel their gender is expressing itself…the transgender ideology uses the concept of binary sexes to claim a gender identity that is under the umbrella of the opposite sex, while at the same time denying the binary sexes and saying that gender is totally disconnected from biological sex. Anyway, the following passage is taken from the website: http://www.phsa.ca/transcarebc/child-youth/affirmation-transition/medical-affirmation-transition/puberty-blockers-for-youth
“Risks of taking puberty blockers
Puberty blockers are considered to be very safe overall.
We are not sure if puberty blockers have negative side effects on bone development and height. Research so far shows that the effects are minimal. However, we won’t know the long-term effects until the first people to take puberty-blockers get older.”
The NAMBLA society is a bad thing. I shouldn’t have to say that. Having said that, time to comment on the book Gender Queer. This is just one book on the controversial ‘Unbanned for high school kids’ list of books that I find beyond-the-pale problematic.
A book about a 10-year-old boy giving a ** to a ‘real estate guy’ and the ‘real estate guy’ giving a ** to the 10-year-old boy is exactly a NAMBLA situation, esp when there are accompanying graphic depictions. Another example in this book is a boy fantasizing about an older man, and there is an ancient piece of art accompanying his ‘fantasy’ here. Defenders of the book say that it because it is an ancient artifact, it is all good. Last I checked, that kind of thing eventually became a problem for ancient civilizations such as Rome. Sort of would be like showing a painting of a slave in shackles and acting like it is a good thing because it’s ancient art.
This is the content of the book Gender Queer. If you are advocating to get this book unbanned for children, at least be willing to admit that it is pedophilic in content, which is a crime, last I checked.
The defenders say, ‘there are just a few graphic drawings of kids with dildos, kids with grown men in this book. That is an insanely weak argument, which I don’t think I should have to even take the time to dismantle.
I’m quite surprised so many activists are fighting so hard to unban access to these sorts of books for high school children. (I have to clarify here that high school age is still a child- another item to clear up. A child is a child legally until they are 18.)
How is this not porn? Being opposed to a child having access to that book is not opposition to gayness, it is opposition to child porn. The fact that they are cartoons instead of photos does not make them not porn. It is also, as of our current laws, opposition to the normalization of what is still a crime. And in this instance, silence in the face of activists attempting to distribute this to children is complicity, and I’m sure organizations such as the NAMBLA society are quite happy about the silence.
This Billie Eilish snippet really struck me. There is a longer video on the Howard Stern show…I’m wondering if maybe we have ‘overcorrected’ in our cultural attempt to dispel the puritanical notion that ‘sex is bad.’ Two things can be true: Sex can be good, AND also should not be a free-for-all, which becomes a petri dish for sexual predators and pedophiles.
